AMP JAPAN's representative figure "Jun Horii" was Paul Smith's exclusive designer in the early 1990s. At that time, he came into contact with old silverware and antique accessories that spread from the UK to all of Europe, and was shocked by their refinement and sophistication. Taking this as an opportunity, the accessories and leather products he designed while serving as Paul Smith's designer received great support in the market. This success became the starting point for him to embark on the road of accessories design.

She then quit her job as a designer for Paul Smith and returned to Kobe, Japan, where she lived in seclusion in her own studio and concentrated on making the accessories she desired. Later, he accepted the advice of a friend and founded "JAM HOME MADE" in Tokyo in 1999. Soon after, he founded AMP JAPAN in pursuit of his ideals. With the support of friends, AMP JAPAN started its own original brand journey with the basic concept of "producing works that can present truly important things and have eternal and sustainable value."
